Armenian Staple

Malbec

Vozkehat, Armenia
Heritage

Malbec was born in the Cahors region of southwestern France, where it was known as CΓ΄t. Argentina found that ground in Mendoza, and the world took notice. But there is another high-altitude desert at the foot of a great mountain - the Ararat Valley of Armenia, at 4,500 to 6,000 feet above sea level. This is the only Malbec in the world grown in the shadow of Mount Ararat, naturally fermented with wild yeast that lives on the vineyard skins, with zero added sulfites, zero added sugar, and nothing standing between you and the grape.

What it feels like

Full-bodied and dry - this is a bold red, but it finishes smooth rather than grippy. You'll taste dark plum and blackberry right away, with a hint of dark chocolate and a touch of oak underneath. The tannins are velvety, not harsh. Overall, it's the kind of wine that feels substantial and satisfying without ever being too much.

Dark Plum Blackberry Dark Chocolate Smoked Oak Velvety Tannin Dry Finish
Perfect pairings

Grilled ribeye steak

The bold tannins complement the rich, savory flavors of perfectly charred beef β€” this is the pairing the wine was built for.

Khorovats (Armenian BBQ)

Slow-grilled over vine wood, Armenian BBQ brings out the wine's smoky undertones and dark fruit in a way that feels completely intentional.

Aged manchego cheese

Nutty and complex, this pairing brings out the wine's subtle oak notes and lets the tannins soften beautifully.

Braised short ribs

The wine's full body and structured tannins stand up to the richness of slow-braised meat, while its acidity keeps every bite feeling fresh.

Notes from the boss

"This is the most approachable Malbec you've ever tried. It's good with any meat!"

The Birthplace of Wine

From Ancient Soil To Your Table

Long before the vineyards of France and Italy, long before the cellars of Napa Valley, there was Armenia β€” the cradle of winemaking. In 2011, archaeologists discovered the world's oldest known winery in the Areni-1 cave complex, dating back over 6,200 years.

This is not just wine. This is liquid heritage β€” a direct connection to the very origins of viticulture.
