Cherry Wine
Armenian cherries have been celebrated since antiquity, the Roman general Lucullus is said to have brought the cherry tree back to Rome from the Armenian city of Giresun after his campaigns in the region, introducing the fruit to the Western world. The cherries used in this wine grow at high altitude in volcanic soil, where dramatic temperature shifts between day and night concentrate every ounce of flavor into the fruit before harvest. The result is a cherry that is deeply red all the way to the core, with an intensity that no lowland variety can match. Naturally fermented with zero artificial additives, this wine is what happens when you take that intensity and let it become something more.
Semi-sweet and full-bodied, with a rich cherry flavor that feels generous but never over-the-top. The finish is smooth and clean, not sticky. Overall, it's the kind of wine you pour when you want something that feels like a treat.

I've really never been much of a wine person, but I took a shot on 3 of the 4 fruit wines. Neither the wife or I like anything pomegranate flavor, so didn't try that one. We lucked out in that we both liked all 3 we tried. The blackberry is my favorite, with strawberry 2nd & cherry 3rd. The wife's favorite is the strawberry, then the cherry with blackberry being 3rd, but again, we both like all 3.

I finally had the chance to try Michael Franzese's Cherry Wine, and it exceeded my expectations. The cherry flavor is rich, natural, and smoothβnot overly sweet like many fruit wines. It has a clean finish with just the right amount of sweetness, making it easy to enjoy by the glass.
As someone who appreciates a good cigar, I found this wine paired surprisingly well with a medium-bodied Maduro. The cherry notes complement the tobacco without overpowering it, creating a relaxing and enjoyable experience.
The bottle itself is beautiful and definitely stands out, but what's inside is what really impressed me. If you're looking to try something different from traditional grape wines, I highly recommend giving this one a chance. It's unique, flavorful, and one I'll definitely keep in my collection.
I am unable to describe how the wine was because Covid took my taste and smelling abilities away. It looked very refreshing over ice and thatβs how I drank it. Very sorry.
