Blackberry Wine

Ararat Valley, Armenia
Heritage

These blackberries were not farmed. They were wild-harvested by hand from the mountain highlands of Armenia, where blackberries grow untamed in volcanic soil at elevations where the air is thin and the seasons are short and intense. This fruit carries a concentration and complexity that cultivated berries simply cannot replicate: the plant has had to work harder, push deeper, and compete with the surrounding landscape to survive. The result is a berry with a depth of flavor that translates directly into the wine. At 15% ABV and with a deep, almost opaque hue, winemakers have long noted that blackberry wine is the fruit wine closest to a traditional red in body, structure, and complexity β€” and this one makes that case convincingly.

What it feels like

Full-bodied and semi-sweet, with a natural tartness that keeps it from tasting like juice. You'll get wild blackberry and dark plum right away, with a deep, almost inky richness and a hint of cassis and violet underneath. The finish is long and clean β€” closer to a red wine than any fruit wine you've tried. Overall, it's bold and satisfying, the kind of bottle that earns its place on a dinner table.

Flavor notes
Wild Blackberry Violet Velvety Body Dark Plum Long Finish
Perfect pairings
Grilled lamb chops on a white plate with rosemary and a side dish.

Lamb chops with herb crust

The wine's dark fruit and full body stand up beautifully to the richness of lamb, while its natural tartness cuts through the fat.

Aged cheddar or blue cheese

The wine's sweetness and structure create a compelling contrast with the sharpness of aged or blue-veined cheeses.

Grilled venison or duck breast

The wine's wild, foraged character mirrors the gaminess of dark meats in a way that feels completely natural.

The Birthplace of Wine

From Ancient Soil To Your Table

Long before the vineyards of France and Italy, long before the cellars of Napa Valley, there was Armenia β€” the cradle of winemaking. In 2011, archaeologists discovered the world's oldest known winery in the Areni-1 cave complex, dating back over 6,200 years.

This is not just wine. This is liquid heritage β€” a direct connection to the very origins of viticulture.
