A full-bodied and smooth single-varietal red wine with rich, fruity, and savory flavors.

Malbec grapes grown in the Ararat Valley of Armenia produce a sober, structured, fresh, and fragrant red wine. Grown at high elevations (2,625 above sea level), the Malbec grapes get bathed in the sun yet avoid sea moisture, resulting in a rip and sunny full-bodied red wine. A truly authentic wine with a genuine expression of Armenian terroir.

Unique Terroir: Armenia, as one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world, has a rich viticultural history dating back thousands of years. The unique terroir of the region, with its high elevation, volcanic soils, and dry climate, creates the perfect conditions for growing Malbec grapes. The combination of these factors imparts distinct characteristics to Armenian Malbec wines, setting them apart from Malbecs produced in other regions.

Indigenous Yeast: Armenian winemakers often use indigenous yeasts for fermentation, which contributes to the unique flavor profile of Armenian Malbec. These yeasts can provide a sense of place and express the region's terroir in the wine, resulting in complex flavors and aromas that differentiate it from other Malbec wines produced around the world.

Winemaking Tradition: Armenia has a long-standing tradition of winemaking, which has been passed down through generations. Winemakers in the region often employ ancient techniques, such as fermenting and aging the wine in clay vessels called "karases." This traditional method can further enhance the wine's distinctiveness, adding an extra layer of complexity and depth to Armenian Malbec that is not found in wines produced using modern techniques.
