Pomegranate Wine

Syunik Province, Armenia
Heritage

The pomegranate has been sacred to Armenia for as long as Armenia has existed. It appears in ancient manuscripts, carved into church walls, and woven into textiles as a symbol of fertility, abundance, and eternal life. The orchards of Syunik Province, in Armenia's southeastern highlands, produce some of the most intensely flavored pomegranates on earth β€” the result of summer temperatures that regularly exceed 110Β°F, combined with the dramatic cooling of highland nights . This is not a flavored grape wine with pomegranate added. It is real fermented pomegranate - tree-ripened, gently pressed, and cold-fermented in stainless steel to preserve every note of freshness - then bottled in a hand-painted traditional Armenian vessel that is itself a piece of art.

What it feels like

Semi-sweet with a bright, natural tartness β€” it tastes like a fresh pomegranate, not a sugary juice. You'll notice tart cherry alongside the pomegranate, with a hint of walnut on the finish that gives it an unexpected depth. It's light enough to drink chilled on its own but interesting enough to hold up next to food. Overall, it's vibrant and refreshing β€” the kind of wine that surprises people in the best way.

Perfect pairings

Roasted duck with pomegranate glaze

A natural pairing β€” the wine mirrors the glaze and amplifies the savory depth of the duck.

Aged hard cheeses

The wine's tartness cuts through the fat of aged cheeses like Gruyère or Comté, creating a surprisingly sophisticated pairing.

Served as a spritz or in sangria

Chill and pour over ice with sparkling water and a sprig of mint, or use as the base of a sangria that will stop every conversation at the table.

Notes from the boss

"Every time I pour this for someone who thinks they know wine, they stop and ask what it is. That reaction is exactly why I love it."

The Birthplace of Wine

From Ancient Soil To Your Table

Long before the vineyards of France and Italy, long before the cellars of Napa Valley, there was Armenia β€” the cradle of winemaking. In 2011, archaeologists discovered the world's oldest known winery in the Areni-1 cave complex, dating back over 6,200 years.

This is not just wine. This is liquid heritage β€” a direct connection to the very origins of viticulture.
